1)     Experience:  John Cunningham has been a Licensed Funeral Director for the past 22 years.  Beginning with his great-grandfather, Louis Nicholas Phippen, John's family has provided funeral services for the people of Ontario for four generations.  John has had the honour of providing his services for prestigious funeral homes such as Humphrey-Miles, Turner & Porter, and Ogden Funeral Homes.

2)    Affordability:  Community Alternative was founded to provide affordable services to the Peterborough Community.  By keeping our facilities modest and using existing facilities in our community, we are able to offer our services and merchandise at an approximate average of half the cost currently available in our community.

3)     Locally Owned and Operated:  We are not owned by a multinational funeral conglomerate.  All decisions are made at the community level and we are able to respond to local needs and conditions immediately.  Our caskets are manufactured locally, and we strive to support and promote many of the quality businesses in our Peterborough community.
